A personal childhood favorite place of mine. It never fails to impress and is an outstanding adventure every time. Maymont is a 100 acre Victorian estate and public park, humbly located in Richmond, Virginia. Gifted to the people of Richmond by Maj. James H. Dooley and his wife Sallie Dooley, Maymont contains Maymont Mansion, an arboretum, formal gardens (Japanese and Italian), an impressive carriage collection, native wildlife exhibits, the Robins Nature Center, and Children's Farm.
