The BreyerFest Open Show is the largest and most competitive model horse show in the world; entrants come from all over walks of life to show out and show off their most prized models in their collection. BreyerFest itself has been taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park for 36 years, its humble beginnings began in 1990 , very different to what it has grown to become now. 2025 highlighted a special celebration; Breyer Animal Creations' 75th Anniversary as a company and for the first time the show was split into two days Thursday & Friday. Thursday July 10 consisted of minis and performance, Friday being everything else. It was my first attendance of Breyerfest and first time ever live showing my own horses, it was quite the experience and as anyone knows a placing anywhere for an event of this grandeur scale is a good placing and I happily took home 7 placings between the two days. Other than your own madness of keeping up with the quick pace of classes, the real enjoyment also came from seeing the absolutely legendary OOAKs, vintage rarities and Breyer history, to the artistically impressive custom horses. This event is must see if you are ever in the area. This hobby continuously blows my mind and a huge THANK YOU to everyone kind enough to share their models with us who can only dream of them, it had me in awe and amazement and it was truly heartfelt to see everything and partake.
