This year as many are aware, Canada has been dealing with an environmental emergency of wildfires. Millions of acres have been roaring out of control for roughly four months now and did it ever have an impact on the 170th running of UCHS. That Thursday, AQI was well over 200 and the horse show had to be shut down for that day due to concern for our equine athletes and humans alike. Luckily AQI dropped by Friday and the $226,000 FEI CSI 4* Upperville Jumper Classic was able to continue safely. The Canadian wildfires were historical for the state as well as the rest of the United States and it will be another one for the books. ~
